The object of this workshop is to teach you the proper use of the cane in a variety ofsituations and to demonstrate the extremely wide range of expression from Sensual to Sadisticof this unique instrument.
  1. Introduction (5 minutes)

    1. Brief history of the cane

    2. Cane as precision instrument.

    3. More precise than most other toys.

    4. Delivers an extremely wide range of sensation.


  2. Caning Safety (10 Minutes)

    1. Damage potential of canes.

      1. Welts

      2. Cuts

      3. Bonebreaking

      4. Potentially lethal organ damage


    2. Natural and artificial variation in bottoms.

      1. Warm-up important (Spanking. etc.)

      2. Dietary supplements. (zinc)

      3. Aspirin/blood thinners.


    3. Places not to hit.

      1. Bony places

      2. Tendons/blood vessels.

      3. Head neck and face.

      4. Female breasts


    4. Ways not to hit.

      1. False strokes (potential for cane damage)

      2. Too hard (A little dab'll do you!)


    5. Blood and fluid contamination issues.

      1. Sharing not recommended.

      2. Clean your canes regularly. (Murphy's etc.)


  3. Caning styles -- 3 broad categories (10 minutes) (with Demo)

    1. California or American style.

      1. More or less gradual increase in sensation, continually delivered.

      2. Good warm-up.


    2. English or traditional style.

      1. Usually no warm-up, at least none with the cane.

      2. Sudden sensation followed by a pause.

      3. Uses both wrist and arm to deliver stroke with a snap.


    3. European style.

      1. Similar to English, with separate strokes.

      2. Uses no wrist; delivered with arm and shoulder. Equal sensation to both buttocks; more thuddy than English.

      3. Rather like paddling with no "English."


  4. Caning techniques. (10 minutes)

    1. Flat strokes. "Traditional" method, usually on thighs or buttocks.

    2. False strokes into pillow or towels.

    3. Wrapping. Usuallyavoided, but effective for those into extreme sensation.

    4. Arching strokes.

      1. Allows use of only the end of the cane.

      2. Allows reaching into areas not normally accessible.


    5. Use of the tip.

      1. Flicking.

      2. Plinking.

      3. Scratching and tickling.

      4. Poking or penetrating.


    6. Testing

      1. Get a feel of the touch of the cane

      2. Try a shot on your calf

      3. Try a shot on the inner side of your forearm

      4. Get a friend


    7. Practice

      1. Pillows

      2. People


  5. Bottom positions (5 minutes) (Demo )

    1. Standing or leaning.

    2. Bent-over or kneel-over.

    3. Lying facedown.

    4. Missionary position. On back, legs up.



    Break for intermission (10 minutes)



  6. Target areas (10 minutes) (Demo)

    1. Both male and female.

    2. Female special places.

    3. Male special places.


  7. Scene types (15 minutes) (Demo)

    1. Corporal punishment more DS than SM.

      1. Examples

        1. Schoolmaster scenes- "6 of my best!"

        2. Domestic or servant discipline.

        3. Judicial scenes.


      2. Context is important.

      3. Usually kneeling, bent-over or missionary position

      4. Little warm-up.

      5. Short duration.


    2. Sensual SM.

      1. Sensation is more important.

      2. Usually standing or lying down.

      3. Gradual warm-up.

      4. Get endorphins and adrenaline flowing.

      5. Approaches pain threshold, but doesn't exceed it

      6. Can be a very long scene 2 or more hours, depending on how many orgasms the

        bottom can stand to have.


    3. Sadistic SM

      1. Mental play "Mindfuck" adds much to this kind of scene.

      2. Can be any position.

      3. More or less warm-up, depending on top preference.

      4. Sensations exceed pain threshold, so that it always hurts. As endorphins build, the

        intensity of stroke delivered increases so that the strokes always hurt. At some point,

        however, usually the top cannot swing any harder without causing damage to the

        bottom, or the top has to stop from exhaustion.

      5. Can be longer duration than CP scene, depending on bottom durability and endorphin

        production ability


  8. Demos (20 minutes)
